Redskins Tim Hightower out for the Season

Tim-Hightower

Washington Redskins running back Tim Hightower will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL according to NFL.com Jason La Canfora.  Hightower went down yesterday in the 3rd quarter of the Redskins/Panthers game.  Before the injury Hightower had rushed for 88 yards on 17 carries.  Replacing Hightower will be Ryan Torian and rookie Roy Helu.   … [Read more...]

Redskins have no choice but to go with John Beck

Mike-Shanahan

Mike Shanahan was hoping Rex Grossman would be his quarterback this year and he wouldn't have a quarterback controversy in the nations capitol. After 5 games Shanahan has no choice but to bench Grossman after 2 poor showings.  In the last 2 games Grossman has thrown 6 interceptions and only completed 47% of his passes.  Shanahan didn't want to make this move to John Beck, but Grossman poor play has forced the Redskins hand into making the switch. The Redskins game plan is simple.   Run … [Read more...]

Injury woes continue for Redskins LaRon Landry

LAron-Landry

The Redskins think they will have a good defense this year, but to reach their full potential they need free safety LaRon Landry on the field.  Landry injured his hamstring and has yet to see the field and it doesn't look like there is a light at the end of the tunnel to when he will return.   The team is uncertain about when the hamstring will heal and the Redskins do not want to clear Landry to early if the chances of him re-aggravating are high. The Redskins defense looked solid in week … [Read more...]

Is Mike Shanahan The Most Overrated Coach Ever?

Mike Shanahan

Is Mike Shanahan the most overrated coach of all time?  Sure Shanahan won 2 Super Bowls with John Elway and Terrell Davis, but what has he done since? Since winning the Super Bowl in 1998 Shanahan has only been to the playoffs 4 times and the only year he didn't coach was in 2009. That's 11 seasons with only 4 playoff appearances.  Shanahan has lived off the success he had with Elway and now his flaws as a coach are not being over looked like they once were. The start of the Shanahan … [Read more...]

Looks Like The Redskins Will Pass On Vince Young

Vince-Young

One team Vince Young can take off his list for a possible destination is the Washington Redskins.  It looks like Redskins head coach Mike Shannahan is looking for a quarterback with strong leadership skills and Shannahan is afraid that Young is not strong enough to lead his team to a Super Bowl trophy. I wouldn't blame Shannahan for passing on Young. Even though the Redskins quarterback situation is up in the air, they would still be happier going into the 2011 season with the quarterbacks … [Read more...]

Mike Shanahan Has Officially Lost It

Mike-Shanahan

Mike Shanahan has officially lost it. Here’s why.  A few weeks back Shanahan had the great idea of suspending Albert Haynesworth and now Shanahan is benching starting quarterback Donovan McNabb for Rex Grossman.  The Washington Redskins have ultimately benched their best offensive and defense player for the rest of the year. I bet if you were to send a survey out to the rest of the 31 teams and ask them if they would ever consider benching their best player on each side of the ball, you … [Read more...]

Shanahan Needs Haynesworth More Then Ever

albert-haynesworth-redskins

I am not sure if Mike Shanahan realizes it yet, but he is going to need Albert Haynesworth this season like it or not.  With the Washington Redskins playing in the tough NFC East, Shanahan is going to need all the help he can get.  Does Shanahan think he is still playing in the AFC West?  I think he does by the way he is treating Haynesworth. When Haynesworth wants to be, he can be a terror on the defensive line.  Competing against the Cowboys, Eagles and the Giants a few times a year is … [Read more...]

Washington Redskins Beefing up the Line with Jammal Brown

Jammal Brown

This weekend the Washington Redskins traded for Jammal Brown to help with the beef upfront.  This is a great move by the Redskins to get an elite right tackle for pennies on the dollar.  Brown was not needed anymore in New Orleans so they were looking to dump him and the Redskins were in need of offensive line help.  Both teams came away from the deal happy. Last season the Redskins had one of the worst offensive lines in the league.  This off season the Skins  used there 4th pick in the … [Read more...]

Washington Redskins Albert Haynesworth Needs Play Football

All this talk about Washington Redskins Albert Haynesworth is getting old.  The Redskins made a huge mistake by signing this guy to a big contract knowing that he was lazy.  Now that Haynesworth has been paid he feels like he does not have to work. The guy is a talent when he wants to be.  Owner Daniel Snyder once again made a blockbuster Madden type move and now its blowing up in his face. I dont know why Haynesworth feels like he is special compared to his teammates and does not  show … [Read more...]

3 Reasons why the Redskins Should Trade Haynesworth

Here are 3 Reasons why the Washington Redskins should trade Albert Haynesworth. The new 3-4 scheme in Washington does not fit Haynesworth playing style.  The switch would mean Big Albert would have to play nose tackle.  I dont think Haynesworth will make the switch from defensive tackle to the nose without a big fuss. He'll be a distraction in the locker room as the season goes on.  Players like Haynesworth are a cancer to the team and over the long haul will probably do more harm then … [Read more...]
