Eagles Steve Smith Open to Returning to the Giants in 2012

Andy-Reid

The Eagles Steve Smith says he is open to returning to the New York Giants after his contract is up with the Eagles this off season.  Smith signed with the Eagles this last off season, but spent his first 4 years with the Giants.  Would the Giants take Smith back?  I think they would if Mario Manningham left  in free agency this next summer. Smith has only played in 7 games this year with the Eagles and only has 110 yards on 10 catches. With the Eagles having so many weapons Smith has … [Read more...]

Can the Giants win with both Bradshaw and Nicks out?

brandon-jacobs

It looks like the New York Giants will have to face the New England Patriots without running back Ahmad Bradshaw and receiver Hakeem Nicks.  Can the Giants travel to Foxborough and win without their top running back and receiver?  The Giants still have a hot quarterback in Eli Manning who has other options he can throw too like Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz, who should find ways to get open against a Patriots pass defense that ranks almost dead to last in the NFL. The running back … [Read more...]

Osi Umenyiora Is Off The Trading Block

umenyiora

The New York Giants have taken Osi Umenyiora off the trading block and will keep him around since no team would pay the asking price.  The Giants were intially asking for a 1st round pick in return for the 2 time pro bowler, but no teams wanted to pay that high of a price for a 29 year old who is close to reaching the downside of his career.  Rumors were flying the Giants had lowered their offer to a 2nd round pick, but as you can tell no team took them up on that offer. The Giants are … [Read more...]

Is 2011 Tom Coughlin’s Last Stand With The Giants?

44401615_elitomgett416

How long can a coach live off of a Super bowl win?  We’re about to find out, with Tom Coughlin and the New York Giants; 2011 is going to be Coughlin’s make or break season.  It’s been 4 seasons since the Giants won the Super bowl in 2007 and the Giants have only made the playoffs once and that was in 2008, the year after their Super bowl win. I thought the Giants were going move in a different direction after this season, but I guess they decided to give Coughlin one more year, since … [Read more...]

Keith Bulluck a good pick up for the Giants

Keith-Bulluck-150x200

The New York Giants needed a veteran leader after cutting Antonio Pierce this last off season, they may have found that guy in Keith Bulluck.  The Giants signed the free agent linebacker to help sure up the linebacker position that took a hit when Pierce went down last season. Does Bulluck have enough in the tank to make a impact for the Giants D?  The Giants better hope he does or else that defense might stay in bad shape.  Can Bulluck replace the leadership role that Pierce brought to … [Read more...]

New York Giants Osi Umenyiora says he’ll quit

In a surprising statement New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora says that he will quit playing football if the team does not start him in the 2010 season.  In 2009 the Giants coaching staff benched Umenyiora when the team struggled on defense looking to shake up the starting lineup to find a way to improve the defense. Now I can see what Osi is saying.  He is used to being a star, but if your not playing well you will get benched.  This is the NFL and not highschool football.  If your … [Read more...]

Former Giant Amani Toomer Likely To Retire

Amani Toomer was a great wide receiver for the New York Giants, but like all good things Toomers career has come to a end.  I really like Toomer and thought he was a solid piece to there offensive for over 12 years.  He helped them reach 2 Superbowls. They won the last Superbowl's  they went to in the upset win over the New England Patriots. Toomer had a team high 6 catches for 84 yards in that game. Amani Toomer played for the Giants from 1996 to 2008.  Even though the Giants cut him … [Read more...]

Phillip Rivers versus Eli Manning

PhilipRivers1a

These two quarterbacks will be forever linked together because they were drafted in the same and then traded for each other. Eli Manning was drafted first by the San Diego Chargers while Phillip Rivers was drafted 4th by the New York Giants. Eli had said he would not play for the Chargers and demanded a trade. Good thing the Giants drafted Rivers so they could switch players. The Chargers also got some draft picks from the Giants for the trade. This trade is still in debate on who got the better … [Read more...]

Can the Giants Recover From 2 Straight Losses?

brandon-jacobs

The New York Giants are in a funk with 2 straight losses in a row. Do not get me wrong though the 2 teams they lost to are good football teams and could be there at the end of the season, however the way the Giants played in these 2 games are not the way the New York Giants normally play.  They are normally a smash team that wants to run the ball down your throat with Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw. Then when the run is working they will throw some play action at you and take shots down the … [Read more...]

The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants Told Us Alot

The New York Giants got beat badly yesterday in there showdown with the New Orleans Saints.  The Saints made the Giants step out of there game plan the try and play the game the way the Saints want you to play. Playing catch up by passing the ball. The Giants are a running team that want to smash the ball down your throat, but then hit you with the play action pass down the field. This form of playing football has proven over time to be very effective, but yesterday the New Orleans Saints did a … [Read more...]
