Brandon Jacobs next stop could be with the Patriots?

brandon-jacobs

Could Brandon Jacobs be the next veteran running back in the Patriots backfield in 2012? The 29 year old Jacobs is now free to sign with any team after being released by the Giants.  Not many teams in the NFL will be interested in signing a bruising 29 year old running back like Jacobs, but the Patriots could be looking for a running back to replace 35 year old Kevin Faulk if he decides to retire.  The Patriots also had Sammy Morris on the roster when he was in his 30's.  The Patriots could … [Read more...]

The Patriots Cut Albert Haynesworth

AlbertHaynesworth-e1294979329231

The New England Patriots have cut defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth according to the Boston Herald. Things never worked out for Haynesworth in New England which is surprising.  The Patriots only give up a 5th round pick to the Redskins for Haynesworth. If Haynesworth couldn't figure it out in New England I am not sure if he ever will.  This could be the last time we see Haynesworth in the NFL. … [Read more...]

The Patriots Bring In Kevin Smith For A Workout

Kevin Smith, Richard Marshall

The New England Patriots have reportedly brought in former Lions running back Kevin Smith for a work out.  Smith is a free agent after playing out his 3 year rookie contract with the Lions and is looking to sign on with a team.  The Patriots have a lot of depth at the running back position already so I am not sure why the Patriots feel they need to sign another running back.   … [Read more...]

Could the Patriots look To Sign Lofa Tatupu

lofa-tatupu

The Patriots are thin at the linebacker position and would be wise to add a veteran free agent. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com thinks the Patriots should sign former Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu to help add depth to this position.  Tatupu played in a 4-3 system in Seattle and would help the Patriots defense who recently switched to a similar 4-3 defense. At this point Tatupu is just looking to sign with a team and would be lucky to sign a contract with a Super Bowl contender.  The … [Read more...]

Patriots taking a look at T.J. Houshmandzadeh

tj-houshmandzadeh-150x150

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is still looking for a team to sign him for the  2011 season.  A team that is taking a look at Houshmandzadeh according to Jason La Canfora is the New England Patriots.  The Patriots don't  need help at the receiver position since they traded for Chad Ochocinco, but if the Patriots did cut Ochocinco; I still think bringing in Houshmandzadeh would be a mistake. Houshmandzadeh had his worst NFL season last year with the Ravens and has never been the same since he left … [Read more...]

Chad Ochocinco Traded To The Patriots

The Patriots have made another big move today by trading for the Bengals Chad Ochocinco for 2 draft picks.  Reports came out yesterday that Ochocinco would be returning to the Bengals, but today he is on the move.  Ochocinco wanted out Cincinnati and I guess Mike Brown finally fulfilled a players request. The Patriots get a receiver who can get down field which is something the Patriots offense have missed since they got rid of Randy Moss.  Ochocinco will fit well in New England with … [Read more...]

Albert Haynesworth Traded to the Patriots

albert-haynesworth-redskins

The New England Patriots have traded for Albert Haynesworth for a 5th round pick in the 2013 draft.  This is a great move for the Patriots who now have one of the most dominate defensive linemen in the NFL.  The Haynesworth era was a disaster from the beginning with the Redskins and were looking to get rid of Haynesworth. If the Patriots can motivate Haynesworth; he can have a major impact on the Patriots defense. … [Read more...]

Could Ricky Williams Run to the Patriots?

Ricky Williams

Could Ricky Williams land with the Patriots?  It’s a long shot, but if the Dolphins don’t re-sign the 34 year old running back Williams might end up in New England.  The Patriots could be in the market for a veteran running back; especially if they do not resign Kevin Faulk or Sammy Morris. Williams would fit nicely in the backfield with Danny Woodhead and BenJarvus Green-Ellis who were the featured backs in the Patriots offense in 2010.   Williams could be the change of pace back the … [Read more...]

Will Tom Brady Win Another Super Bowl With The Patriots?

Tom Brady

Will Tom Brady win another Super Bowl with the New England Patriots?  The Patriots haven’t won a Super Bowl trophy since 2004 and many of the players that were on that team are now gone.  Brady played a huge role in the 3 Super Bowls the Patriots won in the early 2000’s, but the supporting cast Brady had around him on those teams played an even bigger role. Brady’s days of winning Super Bowls are over with the current Patriots roster.  The last chance Brady had to win a Super Bowl … [Read more...]

Is Chad Ochocinco heading to the Patriots?

chad-ochocinco-ponho-sombrero-thumb-512x355-14632

Is Chad Ochocinco heading to the New England Patriots?  If the Bengals cut Ochocinco when the league starts, the Patriots could be Ochocinco’s next landing spot.  Seeing Ochocinco in a Pariots uniform would be a weird site, but is a real possibility. At this point in his career, Ochocinco has made his money and should be looking for a team that can win a Super Bowl.  Ochocinco might be the final piece in the Patriots offense puzzle that could take them to the Super Bowl in 2011.  The … [Read more...]
