Adrian Peterson could miss more then just week 12

Adrian-Peterson

When Adrian Peterson was first diagnosed with a grade 1 ankle sprain the Vikings said he would only miss a week, but now Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier is saying they might hold Peterson out for 2 or 3 weeks to let his ankle heal. Since the team isn’t in the playoff hunt this is the smart move.  No use further injuring your best player in games that don’t matter.  The Vikings gave Peterson a new seven year, 96 million dollar deal at the start of the season and want to protect him for … [Read more...]

When Do the Vikings Pull McNabb for Ponder?

Donovan McNabb

I didnt think the Donavon McNabb era would last long with the Vikings, but with an 0-3 start the Vikings might have to pull the plug on McNabb sooner then expected. The Vikings need to sit McNabb and start the Christian Ponder since the season is all but over going into week 4. The Vikings thought they had a chance to be a decent team this season with McNabb, but the Vikings have blown three 4th quarter leads. Since Ponder is ultimately going to be the Vikings quarterback of the future they … [Read more...]

Ravens Finalize deal with Bryant McKinnie

bryant-mckinnie

According to Jason La Canfora the Ravens have signed Bryant McKinnie to play left tackle.  Mckinnie was cut by the Vikings at the start of training camp because he showed up out of shape and the Vikings didn't want to pay him.  By adding McKinnie the Ravens can now move Michael Oher back to right tackle. I hope the Ravens flew McKinnie out to Baltimore to see what type of shape he was in before they signed him.  The Ravens have done a nice job adding players to help their run game.   The … [Read more...]

Is Sidney Rice Worth Elite Receiver Money?

sidney-rice-fantasy-football

Is Sidney Rice worth elite receiver money? When free agency starts I think Rice will be looking for a contract that will pay him like he is an elite receiver.  There are plenty of teams that will sign Rice to a huge contract.  The Vikings know this and moving forward without Rice. Taking a look at Rice’s career stats you will notice he only has one year where he put up good numbers.  That was in 2009 when Brett Favre arrived in Minnesota.  If Rice had 2 or 3 solid seasons you could … [Read more...]

Did The Vikings Reach For Christian Ponder?

christian-ponder

Did the Minnesota Vikings reach with their first round pick of Florida State’s Christian Ponder?  I am not saying that Ponder won’t be a decent NFL quarterback, but using the 12th overall pick on Ponder was a reach.  The Vikings could have found a trade partner and moved back in the first round and still gotten Ponder. When I saw Ponder play at FSU I thought he was a little overrated.  He didn’t do anything to make you think he was worth the 12th pick in the draft or even a first … [Read more...]

Shocked that the Vikings would Release Randy Moss

moss-vikings

I just read on Profootballtalk.com that the Minnesota Vikings just released Randy Moss.   This is another bone head move by the Vikings to just release Moss after they just traded for him a few weeks ago.    Was Moss that much of a distraction for the team?   After yesterdays press conference you could tell that Moss was unhappy in Minnesota and probably regretted wanting to leave New England. Moss never made a impact for the Vikings in the few games he played.  I would of thought the … [Read more...]

Even If the Vikings Lose They Still Are In The Mix

MINNESOTA-VIKINGS-AT-NEW-ORLEANS-SAINTS

For everything that has gone wrong for the Minnesota Vikings this season they are still in the mix for the NFC North crown.  The weird part is even if they lose to the Patriots this weekend the Vikings can still get to the playoffs.  The other teams in the NFC North are finding ways to keep the Vikings in the hunt. The entire NFC North division is struggling right now and no team has been able to take a commanding lead. If the Vikings can find a way to win this weekend in New England, I do … [Read more...]

Brett Favre Should Have Stayed At home

brett_favre_vikings

Why did Brett Favre even come back this year?  His team is 1-3, he is having elbow problems that could force him to sit out a few games and now allegations are coming out of him sending bad pictures to women when he was with the Jets.   What else could go wrong for the 41 year old QB? How about if the Minnesota Vikings lose this weekend against the Cowboys and fall to 1-4 and out of the playoff picture? If they do lose, I wouldn't be surprised if Favre retired mid season.  I mean why … [Read more...]

Brad Childress Calling out Adrian Peterson is nonsense

Brad Childress

Why do some coaches have double standards for certain players?  Brad Childress has certainly shown double side by calling out running back Adrian Peterson for not showing up to the Vikings off season workouts. Peterson was down in Texas where his hometown hosted an event in honor of Peterson.  I dont know why Childress is having a hard time understanding that a town was honoring Peterson. How would that make Peterson look if he didn't show up to his own day? Childress was just upset that … [Read more...]

Vikings Bryant Mckinnie Should Be ashamed

Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Bryant Mckinnie angered a lot of people when he was kicked off the NFC pro bowl roster during the week because of his missed practice time and missed obligations that go with being in the pro bowl.  I cant understand why this guy would do something like this.  I mean so many players are very honored to play in the pro bowl and this guys out and does whatever thinking that he is above the NFL and all those other guys on the roster.  Reports are coming out … [Read more...]
