The Jacksonville Jaguars have cut veteran quarterback David Garrard.  This move is surprising being so close to the start of the season and now the Jaguars are going into the season with a rookie starting quarterback. The Jacksonville Jaguars might start the Blaine Gabbert era sooner then expected.  There have been reports coming out of the Jaguars camp that Gabbert could take the starting quarterback job from Davis Garrard real soon. The Jacksonville Jaguars had a busy off season trying to beef up there defense.  They have added linebacker Kirk Morrison from a trade with the Oakland Raiders and signed free agent Aaron Kampman who is looking to help the pass rush.  In the draft the Jaguars used the 10th pick to select defensive tackle Tyson Alualu from California who many experts thought was a stretch being selected that high.
