Should the Texans Resign Mario Williams?

Mario-Williams

Should the Texans Resign Mario Williams?  The answer to this question depends on how much Williams will want and for how long.  If Williams wants top dollar, the Texans would be better off letting Williams walk and using the money to fill other key needs on the roster. Sure, the Texans would love to resign an elite pass rusher, but Williams only played in 5 games this year and without Williams the Texans defense didn't miss a beat giving up only 17 points a game. Instead of signing Williams … [Read more...]

Matt Leinart done for the Season after Breaking CollarBone

Matt_Leinart__1

The Houston Texans can't buy a break this season.  When Starter Matt Schaub went down a few weeks ago the Texans had faith that backup Matt Leinart could come in and lead them to the promise land.  Well so much for that.  Leinart broke his collarbone Sunday against the Jaguars and will miss the rest of the season.  Leinart had a good start to this game completing 10 of 13 passes for 57 yards before he went down with the injury. Rookie TJ Yates will start Sunday against the Falcons, but … [Read more...]

Texans Matt Schuab Done For The Year

matt-schaub

The Houston Texans cannot buy a break in the injury category.  At first it was Arian Foster then Andre Johnson and now its quarterback Matt Schuab.  ESPN is reporting Schuab will miss the rest of the season.  This is a huge blow to the 7-3 Texans who are leading the AFC South right now and are primed to make the franchises first playoff appearance.  Taking over for Schuab will be former Cardinal quarterback Matt Leinart. … [Read more...]

Texans Andre Johnson officially out For Week 7

Andre-Johnson

The Houston Texans have officially announced that wide receiver Andre Johnson will not play in their week 7 match up against the Tennessee Titans.  The Texans were hoping Johnson's hamstring would have healed enough for Johnson to play in this important AFC South match up.  Right now the Texans are going with Jacoby Jones, Kevin Jones and Derrek Mason at receiver. This weekends game could make or break the Texans season.  If they lose they fall to 3-4 while the Titans will improve to 4-2 … [Read more...]

Andre Johnson could be back by week 7

Andre-Johnson

Chris Mortensen reported on Twitter this morning that Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson could be back by week 7.  Johnson suffered a hamstring injury in week 4 against the Steelers.  Mortensen says Johnson was running at practice Wednesday.  The Texans are going to need a healthy Johnson in the lineup week 7 for an important AFC South match up when the Texans travel to Tennessee to play the Titans.  The Texans traded for Derrik Mason this week in case Johnson isn't ready to return to the … [Read more...]

Why the Texans should think about Trading for Aaron Curry

Aaron-Curry

Both the Texans and Seahawks have a problem at the outside linebacker position.  The Texans problem is they’ve lost Mario Williams for the season and don’t have a linebacker to replace him with.  The Seahawks problem is they have an outside linebacker in Aaron Curry they are not happy with and looking to trade him. The Seahawks and the Texans can solve each others problems with a simple trade.  This trade would include the Seahawks sending Curry over to the Texans for a 3rd or 4th … [Read more...]

Do the Texans need to sign T.O or Moss?

Terrell-Owens

Just when the Texans thought they had all the pieces necessary to make a playoff run the injury to Andre Johnson could put a damper on this run.  The Texans are unsure on how long Johnson will be out and much of the offense revolves around Johnson and his big play ability. If Johnson is going to be out for more then 5 weeks, then the Texans need to take a hard look at Terrell Owens or Randy Moss.  Neither T.O nor Moss will be able to replace Johnson, but the Texans cannot get by with Kevin … [Read more...]

Matt Leinart Signs with the Texans not the Seahawks

arizona-matt-leinart

Yesterday reports were coming out that Matt Leinart had signed with the Seattle Seahawks, but today we are getting a different story.  John Mclain of the Houston Chronicle is reporting Leinart has re-signed with the Houston Texans not the Seahawks.  Leinart was Matt Schuab's back up this past season and I guess he wants to continue to be a back up quarterback. This move makes no sense for Leinart who has no shot being the starting quarterback for the Texans. If he had come to Seattle he … [Read more...]

Is Wade Phillips the Guy To Get the Houston Texans In The Playoffs?

Wade Phillips

Is Wade Phillips the guy to get the Houston Texans in the playoffs?  If you look at how the Texans played defense last season, anybody could go in there and improve that unit’s performance.  Phillips is a well respected defense coordinator whose track record speaks for it self. The Texans have a high powered offense and I don’t see that changing in 2011, but if the defense cannot stop anybody, its all for naught.   In 2010 the Texans defense gave up 26.7 points a game which was 29th … [Read more...]

Texans Curse Continues in Houston

matt_schaub_houston_texans

Whats happened to the Houston Texans?  Maybe the curse of the Texans is true and this team will never make the playoffs.  After a great start to the season the Texans have fallen under %500. Yesterdays loss to the Jaguars on the last play of the game was a heart breaker.  I am not sure the Texans can bounce back and make the playoffs now. The schedule doesn't get any easier in week 11 as the Texans travel to New York to play the Jets.  The Texans started the season 3-1 and really looked … [Read more...]
