Would Stevie Johnson be a good fit with the Bengals?

Steve-Johnson-Buffalo-Bills

Would Stevie Johnson be a good fit with the Bengals? Johnson is a free agent and if he and the Bills cannot come to an agreement Johnson will be looking for a new team to play for.  Pete Prisco of CBSSPORTS.com thinks the Bengals could be in play to sign Johnson and have him line up opposite of A.J. Green.  I think Johnson will give the Bills every chance to lock him up to a long term deal, but if the two parties cannot come up with a happy medium I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnson in a … [Read more...]

Could Marshawn Lynch be a Bengal in 2012?

cedric-benson1

Cedric Benson signed a one year deal with the Bengals this past off season, but according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer the Bengals will not bring Benson back in 2012, so they will be looking for a back to fill Bensons spot moving forward.  The perfect back to replace Benson could be current Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who is going be a free agent after this season.  The Seahawks could use the franchise tag on Lynch if they can’t come to an agreement so that might … [Read more...]

Rey Maualuga is out for Week 6 for the Bengals

Rey-Maualuga

Cincinnati Bengals outside linebacker Rey Maualuga will miss this weekends week 6 match against the Indianapolis Colts.  Maualuga hurt his ankle during Thursday mornings practice.  Maualuga has only missed 2 games in his career.  Dan Skuta will fill in for Maualuga.  With the Colts offense having a hard time generating the Bengals shouldn't have any problems on defense without Maualuga. … [Read more...]

Are the Bengals Thinking about Signing Clinton Portis?

clinton-portis3

The Bengals might be in need of some help at the running back position when Cedric Benson serves his 3 game suspension.  Tuesday the Bengals worked out Clinton Portis according to Jason LaCanfora. I am not sure if the Bengals are serious about signing Portis, but if they are he would not be a good pick up for this team.  The Bengals already have 2 solid backs in Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard who are both younger and more explosive then the aging Portis. … [Read more...]

Taylor Mays Traded To The Cincinnati Bengals

taylor_mays2

The 49ers were desperate to trade Taylor Mays and were close to releasing Mays, but according to Profootballtalk.com the Bengals have made a trade for Mays.  According to the teams official website the Bengals traded for Mays because of injuries and bad play from the backup safeties the Bengals have on the roster.   The terms of the trade have not been released, but I don't think the Bengals gave up much since the 49ers were on the verge of releasing Mays. … [Read more...]

Looks Like Chad Ochocinco Is Staying With The Bengals

chad-ochocinco-ponho-sombrero-thumb-512x355-14632

For much of the summer we thought Chad Ochocinco was finished with the Bengals and would be cut when the league year started, but according to head coach Marvin Lewis he expects all the players under contract to report to camp on time.  I wonder if Ochocinco will actually show up?  He still has one year left on his contract with the Bengals and is due to make 6 million dollars in 2011. The Bengals should just cut Ochocinco knowing he doesn't want to be there.  6 million is a heavy price … [Read more...]

Is Cedric Benson Finished with the Bengals?

cedric-benson1

Is Cedric Benson finished with the Bengals? Benson becomes a free agent this off season after spending the last 3 years with the Bengals and is looking for one more big contract before he retires.  I am not sure the Bengals are too eager to re-sign the 28 year old Benson to a big fat long term contract. Sure, bringing in Benson to carry the workload with the new young players the Bengals have would be a good idea, but signing any running back who is only a year and a half shy of turning 30 … [Read more...]

Is Chad Ochocinco Finished With The Bengals?

chad-ochocinco-ponho-sombrero-thumb-512x355-14632

Is Chad Ochocinco finished with the Cincinnati Bengals?  It’s been reported that Ochocinco says his time with the Bengals is over and that he will be looking for a new team to play for in 2011. The Bengals are already in a team dysfunction with the whole Carson Palmer retirement situation and the chances are good that the Bengals will have the worst record in the NFL in 2011 so this would be the perfect time to unload the 6 time Pro Bowler who is due to make 6 million in 2011. I say let … [Read more...]

3 Reasons Why The Bengals Will Be The Worst Team In The NFL In 2011

mike-brown-300x187

Who will be the worst NFL team in 2011?  After looking at the NFL has a whole and seeing how things could play out for the 2011 season my prediction to who ends up with the worst record is the Cincinnati Bengals.   Here are my 3 reasons why: If Carson Palmer actually retires the Bengals will be forced to play Carson’s brother Jordan at quarterback. The Bengals will not get the same production out of Jordan that they did with Carson even if they have the same last … [Read more...]

Why the Bengals Should Sign Jamarcus Russell

Since Jamarcus Russell was cut last week by the Oakland Raiders there are a few teams that are interested in the former number one pick.  The one place that would make sense would be the Cincinnati Bengals.  Even though the Bengals have Carson Palmer they need a backup Quarterback.    The biggest  reason though the Bengals should sign Jamarcus Russell is becuase the Bengals always find ways to sign the misfit players of the NFL.  They recently signed Pacman Jones who is a NFL outcast  so … [Read more...]
